The Diamond Jackpot Class

The Diamond Jackpot Class is a high-stakes, international grooming competition designed to recognize and reward the world’s most skilled and consistent groomers. Spanning three years, this unique class features both annual prize payouts and a progressive Grand Diamond Jackpot, awarded based on cumulative points earned across events.

How It Works

The Diamond Jackpot Class is hosted annually by Mastergroom Canada and Groomania (Belgium).

Each participating country crowns its own annual Diamond Jackpot champions while contributing points toward the global, three-year competition.

Annual Prizes

At both Mastergroom Canada and Groomania, the top three competitors receive:

• 1st Place: €2,000 (or CAD $3,000)
• 2nd Place: €1,400 (or CAD $2,000)
• 3rd Place: €1,000 (or CAD $1,500)

Prizes are calculated using the official exchange rate on the day of competition.

The Progressive Grand Diamond Jackpot

Mastergroom Canada and Groomania each contribute €2,500 (approximately CAD $3,750) annually to a shared Diamond Jackpot pot.

This pot grows over three years.

The competitor with the highest cumulative point total at the end of the three-year cycle is awarded the Grand Diamond Jackpot.

Cumulative Points System

Points are awarded at each event as follows:

• 1st Place: 10 points
• 2nd Place: 8 points
• 3rd Place: 6 points
• 4th Place: 4 points
• Participation: 1 point

Winning the Grand Diamond Jackpot

The competitor with the highest total points after three years is crowned Grand Diamond Champion.

In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by an anonymous judge vote, drawing from judges involved over the three-year period.

Rules & Eligibility

The Diamond Jackpot Class is open to the following official competition classes:

• Handstripping
• Poodles (Toy, Miniature, Medium, Standard)
• Spaniels and Setters
• Pure Breeds

Time limits and technical requirements follow the official Mastergroom Canada and Groomania competition standards.

Participation Requirements

Competitors must enter at least one Diamond Jackpot event per year to remain eligible for the Grand Diamond Jackpot.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated on, but not limited to:

• Suitability of style
• Technical skill and difficulty of execution
• Overall balance, symmetry, and finish

Timeline

• 2025: Diamond Jackpot debuts at Groomania and Mastergroom Canada
• 2026: Second year adds to the cumulative Jackpot
• 2027: Grand Diamond Champion crowned at Groomania
