Ever wanted to step into the competition ring but don’t have the perfect dog to bring — or you’re travelling and your four-legged partner had to stay home? The Artero Model Dog Class is the perfect solution.

This unique and crowd-favourite class at Mastergroom Canada allows groomers to showcase their technical skill, creativity, and finish using a professional model dog — no movement, no stress, and no distractions. It’s an excellent opportunity for both new and experienced competitors to focus purely on grooming technique and presentation.

This year, competitors may enter one of two categories:

• Creative – where imagination shines through colour, flair, and artistic expression. Creative competitors may pre-colour their model dogs prior to the class; however, no trimming or sculpting may be done in advance.
• Regular Groomed – focused on clean lines, balance, and polished, professional styling.

Each competitor will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to groom their model dog.

Your $125 entry fee includes your own Artero model dog to keep, making this not only a competition experience but a lasting professional tool to take home.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three competitors in each category.

Takes place Sunday morning at Mastergroom Canada.
